As coincidence as it is, I've only finished reading the manga a day ago and the anime debuts the folowing day... Got hooked on immediately because of it's interesting content and story. Sekirei originates from the manga and aired only recently so fans can go catch it asap before the next episode comes out... Of course, it will be better if you read the manga as there's more in which the anime did not show because of time and budget constraints... Plus, there's more ecchi-ness in the manga than the anime...
Sekirei tells the story of Minato Sahashi who has failed the college entrance exam twiceand still unattached. One day, Minato meets a girl named Musubi, who literally falls from the sky. Minato soon learns that he is an 'Ashikabi', humans with special genes that allows them to partner with 'Sekirei'. The Sekirei are 108 super-powered beings created by the mysterious MBI corporation. Made up of cute girls, buxom women, the Sekirei fight in a dangerous and sometimes deadly competition called the 'Sekirei Plan'. With the entire city of Tokyo as the battlefield, the Sekirei seek out those humans who are destined to become their Ashikabi partner and fight to attain their most desired wishes...
There's probably a high chance that Sekirei will be like Rosario Vampire in which ends with a 12 episode season. IN the end it all boils down to reading the manga as its already pretty far away from the beginning as the Sekirei Plan has reached phase 3... Whoops, I talked too much... Read the manga to find out more... Check out the links in the 'Manga Section'.
